Show and Tell (Part 1)
I used to love “show and tell” in grade school.
Nothing thrilled me quite like the opportunity to not only tell all my friends and classmates about something that I loved, but to also show them!
(who didn’t love bringing their favorite toy or bike to school?!)
I would plan and prepare what I would say and how I would say it.
I would think about how my “monologue” could be best augmented by my demonstration.
I wanted everyone to love my “show and tell” item just as much as I did by the end of it all.
I think the same should be true in our relationships.
Especially on our teams and with the people we lead…(and in our worship too, more on this later).
In relationships and teams, it can be nice to say, “You’re the best” or “I’m glad you’re here” or “We appreciate you.”
However, it is important that we find ways to “show” and demonstrate those same sentiments through our actions.
As leaders, we need to commit ourselves to being people of word and deed.
Don’t allow your words of encouragement to become mere platitudes…
Because your people never see you putting action to your words!
If you love and appreciate your people (like I know you must)…
Show and Tell them! ♥
